Great Southern Oak

The strange alien-like ghosts represent the history that such oaks have seen. There’s a sort of glowing spiritual power emanating from them in the form of a brush stroke. The tree is surrounded by various wood cut relief printed characters I've met around my home in Thibodaux Louisiana. The shadows under the tree reflect the people still buried in unmarked graves under the town of Thibodaux.
