“Around this time I wanted to make larger embroidery works, like Save the Earth, and had the idea to incorporate found bits of embroidered fabric patterns. My husband said it reminded him of a portrait painting by Henri Matisse. I felt the face could use some dimension, like the painting so I added acrylic paint with the contrasting red/green underpainting. I then added sequin spirals for movement and signed it with a kiss.”
